Description
Jenny Bits are a line of high-performance CNC router bits engineered by Cody Elkins of Cadence Manufacturing & Design, a machinist and woodworker known in the CNC community for obsessing over tool geometry and cut quality. These bits were created to give hobby-style CNCs the kind of results usually associated with larger, more rigid machines.
At the heart of the lineup is The Jenny—a custom-ground, solid-carbide compression bit that delivers clean top and bottom edges in plywood and sheet goods without needing a deep depth of cut. That shallow up-shear section and larger core diameter make it ideal for smaller, less rigid machines while still staying strong under load.
Building on that success, the Jenny family now includes compression, up-cut, down-cut, V-bits, ball-nose, bowl, and specialty profiles sized for common 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ shanks—covering everything from sheet-goods work and sign making to 3D carving and finishing passes.
Many Jenny Bits use modern coatings and premium carbide cores that are designed to dramatically extend tool life—often reported up to 3–4× longer than traditional uncoated bits—while maintaining edge sharpness and resisting wear under heavy use.
Why we recommend Jenny Bits for hobby CNC users
Made for smaller CNCs – Geometry tuned to perform on hobby-class routers, not just big industrial machines.
Cleaner edges in plywood and hardwood – Compression and down-shear designs fight tear-out on both faces of the sheet.
Long-lasting value – High-grade carbide and advanced coatings aim to significantly outlast typical bits, saving you money in the long run.
Designed by a working CNC machinist/woodworker – Crowd-tested and refined with input from the maker community.
